How can I get one of your awesome mini museum shirts in addition to my reward?

Hello! Thank you for asking about the shirts!

You can add a shirt to ANY reward just by adding an extra $20 to the total of your reward. I will send a survey after the campaign is over to get your size.

International Customs and Duties

I’ve received a lot of great advice from backers about international shipping and I’ve been working with outside counsel and experienced retailers to make the process as simple as possible.

To ensure that I am compliant with U.S. customs regulations, I will be checking the box marked “Other” on the customs form and putting Kickstarter Pledge Reward in the box. I know that some of you have asked that I check the gift box, but I’ve been advised by outside professionals that “Other” is more accurate.

As for import regulations, the range of rules that may apply to the mini museum across the globe is daunting. There’s really no way I could review all of these rules for every country.

However, I will declare the mini museum under harmonized tariff code HS 9023.00.00. This is the code used for “Instruments, apparatus and models, designed for demonstrational purposes (for example, in education or exhibitions), unsuitable for other uses, and parts and accessories thereof”. Please note that this is not a guarantee in any way. Backers should be aware of regulations in their own countries.

As always, keep an eye on project updates for the latest information on international shipping. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2054592112/mini-museum/posts

Can I get more than one mini museum?

Unless you pledge at a tier with more than one mini museum (such as the touch or collector’s set), I’m afraid it’s not possible to get more than one mini museum.

This was an add-on for a limited time, but as I noted in update #2, I am keeping a close eye on the total number of mini museums pledged.

Kickstarter doesn’t have a great way to monitor these and I want to ensure I don’t oversell going forward. I still have ample supply to make more and there will be no impact on quality, size, or specimens included.

Thank you so much to everyone who added on extra mini museums!

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
